Bhuwanesor Paudel, a 45-year-old farmer from Banganga-9 Jinuwa, has turned his passion for agriculture into a thriving enterprise. After earning a bachelor’s degree and teaching for three years, Bhuwanesor transitioned to farming and now manages Banganga Agro Farm. On his 8 bighas of land, he cultivates various crops and grasses while also practicing fish farming on an additional 1 bigha. His farm, which houses 42 buffaloes and cows, not only produces a diverse range of products but also supports the local economy by employing four dedicated workers. His commitment to his community is evident through the stable jobs he provides, reinforcing his role as a local benefactor. Reflecting on his achievements, he credits much of his progress to the invaluable support he has received from Banganga Municipality and the transformative Geokrishi app.

“I am deeply grateful for the support from Banganga Municipality,” Bhuwanesor begins. “The seeds they provide for rice and wheat have been crucial to my farming. Their training programs have also equipped me with the latest techniques, helping me stay ahead in agriculture.”

Equally important to his success is the Geokrishi app, which Bhuwanesor describes as revolutionary. “The app’s weather forecasts are incredibly accurate,” he explains. “This allows me to plan my harvests with confidence, adjust to changing conditions, and minimize risks.” He also highlights how the app’s climate-smart agriculture recommendations have significantly boosted his crop yields while promoting sustainable practices. “The advice on climate-smart methods has made my farming more effective and environmentally friendly,” he notes.

Bhuwanesor is particularly impressed by the app’s photo assistance feature. “Whenever I encounter issues with my crops or cattle, I simply take a photo and send it through the app,” he shares. “The expert advice I receive is prompt and incredibly useful, helping me address problems quickly and maintain the health of my farm.”

The app’s e-chautari classes are another cornerstone of Bhuwanesor's success. “The classes keep me updated with the latest farming techniques,” he says. “This continuous learning helps me stay at the cutting edge of agriculture.” Bhuwanesor also appreciates the app’s notification system. “Geokrishi reminds me when to water, apply fertilizer, and perform other critical tasks,” he explains. “This ensures that nothing is overlooked, and my farm operations run smoothly.”

Together, the support from Banganga Municipality and the innovative features of the Geokrishi app have empowered Bhuwanesor to achieve exceptional productivity and sustainability. His success story stands as a testament to the profound impact of integrating community support with modern agricultural technology.
